Born to deaf parents and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Benowitz’s early years were marked by significant challenges, including being placed in three children’s homes. Despite these hardships, he transformed adversity into strength, developing an acute ability to observe and listen—skills that would later define his distinguished career.
As a former world speed champion in court reporting, Benowitz has published over 30 articles and has exhibited his fine art photography in more than 60 art shows worldwide, including a prestigious private reception at the Musee du Louvre in Paris. His unique ability to capture the essence of the human experience—both in words and images—has earned him recognition across multiple artistic fields.
Now at 83, Benowitz continues to inspire through his writing, photography, and community involvement. He resides in Miami, Florida, with his life partner, Terry Diamond, where he remains dedicated to storytelling, art, and fostering meaningful connections.
